Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses Polu, including people who open share links. It is part of our Terms of Service.

1. Prohibited content

You may not upload, store or share:

  • Illegal or infringing content: Content that breaks applicable law or infringes someone else's intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Malware: Viruses, ransomware, trojans, spyware or any file designed to damage or gain unauthorized access to devices or data.
  • Child sexual abuse material: Any content that sexually exploits or endangers minors. We report it to the relevant authorities, including NCMEC where required.
  • Phishing and fraud: Pages or files designed to steal credentials or payment details, impersonate others or deceive recipients.
  • Violent or hateful content: Content that threatens, incites or glorifies violence, or harasses people based on who they are.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery: Intimate images or video shared without the consent of the people shown.

2. Prohibited behavior

  • Using Polu to send spam or bulk unsolicited links.
  • Circumventing plan limits, rate limits, bot protection or download restrictions, including by opening multiple free accounts.
  • Probing, scanning or testing the vulnerability of Polu without written permission, or interfering with the service.
  • Accessing share links, accounts or data you are not authorized to access.
  • Using Polu as a public file host or CDN for content unrelated to your own work, such as hotlinking files from other websites.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the files you upload and for who you share them with. Only share content you own or have permission to share, and use passwords, expiry dates and revocation to limit access where appropriate.

If you are unsure whether a use is allowed, email support@polu.io before you share.

4. Enforcement

Uploads are scanned for malware, and files that fail the scan cannot be shared. We review abuse reports and may, at our discretion:

  • Remove content or disable access to a share link.
  • Block files, links or domains from being shared again.
  • Suspend or close the account responsible.
  • Report illegal activity to law enforcement or other appropriate authorities.

Severe violations, such as child sexual abuse material, malware distribution or attacks on the service, lead to immediate account termination.

5. Reporting abuse

If you find a Polu link that breaks these rules, report it here. For copyright complaints, follow our DMCA Policy.
